26th July 2018 Important information on the future ordering of your medicines:
1st September 2018, the surgery will no longer be accepting prescription requests
made by a pharmacy on behalf of our patients.
We know that for some patients the “Pharmacy ordering service” is an easier way of
ordering repeat medications. However by increasing patient involvement in the repeat
ordering process we hope to:
· Improve patient safety by reducing inappropriate requests for medicines
· Reduce medicine wastage/excessive stock in patient’s homes
· Reduce orders for items not required
You can request your medications, 7-10 days before you are due to run out, as follows:
• Online ordering - simple, effective and accurate. Please speak to our reception
staff or see our website
• Written requests - hand in to reception or post to the
• Telephone calls - between 10am-12pm for those that find the above difficult
– we anticipate that lines may get busier so please use online ordering and/or written
requests where possible
Please allow 48 hours for the surgery to process your request. The local Pharmacies
have asked for a further 24-48 hours to dispense your medicines.
Thank you for your understanding
